Frequently asked questions

How are the times calculated? Lunahora uses the sidereal zodiac and computes the panchanga (tithi, nakshatra, yoga, karana), planetary hours, choghadiya, Rahu Kalam and muhurtas from the real sunrise and sunset at your location. Everything is calculated on your phone and works offline.

Which ayanamsa does the app use? Rohini Paksha by default. You can choose Lahiri, Raman, Krishnamurti (KP), Sri Yukteshwar, True Chitra or True Pushya, and true or mean lunar nodes, in Profile → Ayanamsa.

Why does the app ask for my location? To calculate sunrise and sunset for your place. The location stays on your phone. If you prefer, deny access and choose your city in Profile.

How does “Ask the Moon” work? The answer is taken from the chart of the moment you ask, following the classical rules of Prashna Shastra. Ask a question once: repeating the same question within 24 hours gives the same answer.

How do I restore my purchase? Open the Premium screen and tap “Restore purchases”, signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account.

How do I cancel a subscription? iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Lunahora. Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → Lunahora. Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.

Is this a prediction of the future? Lunahora follows the Jyotish tradition and is meant for self-reflection and planning. It is not medical, legal or financial advice.
